Facebook, Marketing 2.0, and Filters
August 11, 2007Robert Scoble has been talking about Facebook for the last few weeks. However, amongst my own thoughts about Facebook, this podcast by Jason Calacanis got me thinking a bit more: is Facebook a good networking/marketing tool, or is there too much information to be effective.
Now Scoble is an extreme case, because he has friended so many people in Facebook. By doing this Scoble does not filter his communication, which means that he either has to read every bit of correspondence he receives (email, Twitter, Technorati alerts, Facebook, etc.) or he could miss some very important information.
So I thought up an interesting experiment. I decided to record a video, especially for Scoble, and send it to him through Facebook. We’ll see if he responds. With 4574 friends in Facebook, it’ll be interesting to see if he gets the message.
